About the project
Oktogrid was created to deliver monitoring tools for electrical transformers and from the data rethink reinvestment tools for the electrical grid. The demand for better solutions is urgent due to the rapid rise in electricity consumption and the introduction of renewable energy sources. As a result, the grid now behaves with far greater complexity than in past decades, and this complexity will only increase.
The situation is widely recognized, and industry players are exploring solutions from multiple angles. Our approach stands out for its simplicity, scalability, and focus on the user experience. Rather than relying on rigid and expensive equipment, we developed a low-cost, flexible solution that enables access to a big range of different data sources.
Another key challenge is that the grid is a live system that never shuts down. Monitoring equipment must be installed while the grid remains operational. The process must be fast, non-intrusive and fit into existing maintenance schedules.
The solution to these challenges became Oktogrid's core suite of products:
The data collector,
a lightweight and easily installable device
The install app,
a mobile tool for guiding and validating the installation process
The data dashboard,
a platform for analyzing and visualizing grid health
