Heavy with silver and enamel

I’ve been passionate about designing caps for a while, and this piece is the result of a collaboration with silversmith and jewelry designer Anne Lahn Hornbæk. Anne is known for her colorful universe, enamel techniques, and relaxed organic lines.

Together, we explored her creative universe and became captivated by one of her signature motifs: the Lazy Daisy. The motif comes to life through loose doodles on paper then evolving into jewelry. Embracing this doodling mindset, we imagined the Lazy Daisy as a mood with a spectrum of expressions next to it. From there, we experimented with shifting the character of the motif, exploring how its vibe could change while staying true to the essence of the original.

Through this process, we developed three personalities: Lazy Daisy, Sunmelted, and Laisy. We then sketched, cut, and riveted the silver plates to the brim. Lastly we crowned each design with a glass-filled silver button. Only three of these caps exist, and may still be available at 'Ich bin ein Berliner' store.
